SEAD works alongside social workers and human services professionals. If you work with people, we are for you. Our current supervisees include practitioners working in statutory, community, forensic, health, child protection, gender-based violence, and accommodation settings.
SEAD holds a particular commitment to supporting practitioners who are new to complex practice spaces. This includes early-career workers and those transitioning into high-risk or emotionally demanding roles, where reflective supervision can be critical in building sustainable practice from the outset. We also work with organisations seeking to strengthen ethical, safe, and sustainable practice through supervision, training, and strategic support.
So, in short, if you’re here, probably you. -
Our approach is reflective, trauma-informed, and values-led.
We focus on strengthening reflective capacity, ethical reasoning, and professional judgement, rather than offering prescriptive or compliance-driven supervision alone.
We hold practice within its broader organisational, systemic, and regulatory context, recognising that ethical challenges and risk rarely sit with individuals in isolation.
However, supervision is for YOU, so we are dedicated to making the space what you need and are committed to reviewing our models at key points in the supervision relationship to ensure that we are remaining helpful to your professional development -
Supervision is a relational process, and fit matters. We welcome initial conversations to explore your practice context, needs, and expectations. We are transparent about our approach and encourage practitioners to choose supervision that aligns with their values and professional requirements.
We offer a free initial meeting to chat about your fit, which we would encourage you to use! -
Yes, supervision is confidential within ethical and legal boundaries. We are transparent about the limits of confidentiality and our responsibilities as supervisors, particularly where there are concerns related to safety, serious misconduct, or risk.
If you chose to engage with SEAD, we will discuss this in more length during our sign on. -
Both. We recognise that ethical practice and practitioner wellbeing are deeply connected. Supervision supports sustainable practice by addressing burnout risk, emotional impact, boundaries, and moral distress, while remaining firmly grounded in ethical and professional responsibilities.

Supervision can support professional development and ethical practice requirements. For social workers in Australia, this includes requirements set by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Peta is an AASW-registered social worker and provides supervision that is informed by the AASW Code of Ethics and Practice Standards. Supervision may be used to support reflective practice, ethical decision-making, and professional development in line with AASW expectations.
Practitioners are responsible for confirming how supervision hours can be counted toward AASW Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or other registration requirements, and for ensuring their supervision arrangements meet current AASW guidelines.

Many of our supervisees choose online video sessions for supervision. We also offer phone supervision where this better suits your preferences or circumstances.
The frequency of supervision is discussed collaboratively and informed by practice context, level of risk, organisational expectations, and practitioner needs. Many practitioners choose monthly supervision; however, fortnightly arrangements are available where appropriate — for example, for new graduates or during particularly challenging or complex periods of practice.
We aim to establish supervision arrangements that are realistic, ethical, and sustainable over time.

Services and training are bespoke and developed in response to each organisation’s unique context, challenges, and goals. This means that rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, we work closely with your organisation to identify where support will be most valuable and design solutions that meet those needs.
This may include:
Case reviews to provide reflective, ethical guidance on complex or high-risk cases.
Group supervision to build team reflective capacity, strengthen ethical practice, and support collective care.
Reflective practice forums that foster discussion, learning, and peer support within your team or organisation.
Tailored training to develop skills, strengthen knowledge, and enhance professional practice aligned with organisational priorities.
Strategic, governance, or operational support to assist organisations in embedding safe, sustainable, and ethical practice across systems, policies, and procedures.
Because these services are bespoke, it is often most effective to make direct contact. You may come with a specific idea already formed, or you may want to simply chat it through — either way, we can explore your needs and co-design support that is practical, ethical, and sustainable. Further information about the range of organisational services and training we offer is available via the Services tab.

SEAD’s supervision aligns with the AASW Supervision Standards and Pricing Model, ensuring ethical and professional support for social workers and human services practitioners.
Individual (1:1) supervision sessions are priced according to this model, and discounts may be available for new practitioners to support early-career professional development. Pricing of other work can vary depending on session type (individual or group), session length, complexity of work, or additional organisational support.
Because supervision is tailored to each practitioner or organisation, it’s best to get in touch to discuss your needs. We also offer a free first session, so you can explore whether SEAD supervision is the right fit for you.
